This week, I have been collecting fish in Thailand for my dissertation research with the help of my colleague Peter Hundt and our local collaborator Nong Kaeprakan. So far, our trip has been very successful! I still have some identification work to do that requires a microscope, but I think we have collected 10 species so far from fish markets and by beach seining in the Gulf of Thailand. Tomorrow we will go to Trang province where we will continue our sampling.
Collecting Alosa chrysochloris in IllinoisI collected some skipjack shad (Alosa chrysochloris) with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources! I will collect molecular, morphological, and diet data from these specimens. |
